چکیده
Smelting reduction of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) produces metallic alloys containing Co, Ni, Cu, Mn, and Fe. Finding suitable reagents in terms efficiency, economics, friendly environment for the dissolution these metals from is very important recovery process metals. In this work, employment ferric chloride solution was studied. The effect parameters like FeCl3 concentration, temperature, time, pulp density on leaching efficiency investigated. Our results indicate that ions solutions act as oxidizing agents metals, while anions ligands formation complexes dissolved metal ions. best conditions full were 0.7 mol/L FeCl3, 12.5 g/L density, 22oC, 30 min. comparison with HCl or H2SO4 agents, shows some advantages a decrease dosage acids fast reaction kinetics, low energy consumption. With its advantages, considered potential agent valuable LIBs.

Leaching Process for the Recovery of Valuable Metals from Spent Lithium- Nickel-cobalt-manganese-oxide-based Lithium-ion Batteries
This study focused on the leaching process for the recycling of Li, Ni, Co, and Mn from the LiNixCoyMnzO2 (NCM) cathodes of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Eh–pH diagrams were used to analyze suitable leaching conditions. Operating variables, such as the concentration of H2SO4 (0.5–2.5 M), concentration of H2O2 (0–1 vol%), temperature (10–50 °C), stirring speed (400–800 rpm), and solid/liqu...
متن کاملRecovery of cobalt sulfate from spent lithium ion batteries by reductive leaching and solvent extraction with Cyanex-272
Cobalt sulfate was recovered from crushed and screened prismatic type spent lithium ion batteries (LIBs) containing 5~20 % Co, 5~7 % Li, 5~10 % Ni, 15% organic chemicals, and 7% plastics together with Cu, Al, Fe, and Mn. Cobalt was reductively leached from the -16 mesh fraction in 1 h by stirring with 2 M H2SO4 and 6 vol% H2O2, at 60 C and 300 rpm using a solid/liquid ratio of 100 g/L to give a...
متن کاملRecovery of cobalt and lithium from spent lithium ion batteries using organic citric acid as leachant.
In this work, a hydrometallurgical process based on leaching is applied to recover cobalt and lithium from spent lithium ion batteries (LIBs). Citric acid and hydrogen peroxide are introduced as leaching reagents and the leaching of cobalt and lithium with a solution containing C(6)H(8)O(7) x H(2)O is investigated. When both C(6)H(8)O(7) x H(2)O and H(2)O(2) are used an effective recovery of Li...
